Nonotuck Mourns the Loss of Lois Raj
Nonotuck Resource Associates, Inc. is sad to announce the recent passing of longtime Board of Directors member Lois Raj. Lois spent over three decades on Nonotuck’s Board—including more than 15 years serving as Vice President—in addition to serving on our Human Rights Committee. Lois loved Nonotuck and was a strong advocate for shared living.
“Lois had a great set of values. She advocated strongly for the rights of disabled people and for the employees of Nonotuck,” says Nonotuck CEO/President George H. Fleischner. “She was bright, funny, kind and overall, a wonderful person. She cared deeply for the people she served at Service Net and at our great agency. I admired Lois and often looked to her as a moral compass. Lois touched my life dearly and many others in the Pioneer Valley, and she will be deeply missed at Nonotuck.”
Nonotuck Care Manager Tammy Laurent spent many years serving on our Human Rights Committee with Lois. “{I’ll remember} her thoughtfulness, her thoroughness,” Tammy says. “She was very into serving on the committee, and took everything seriously, making sure peoples’ rights weren’t infringed upon. She was dedicated to our Human Rights Committee and the people we serve.”
